My childhood summers revolved around my grandfather's vineyard in Umbria. At dinner he'd occasionally coax me into sipping a little red wine, always diluted with water. The fruity taste and perfume still scent my memory. So it was no coincidence that after University I began cultivating a passion for enology, which led to work within a number of Michelin acknowledged establishments throughout Italy. After becoming a Sommelier a wonderful opportunity lured me to England. The stage was set and Gordon’s Wine Bar was the show!
In Gordon’s I met my dear friend Sian. Over the years Sian and I have become very
close and developed a trusting relationship.
From the first time I worked behind the bar I was hooked. What's not to love?
The people, music and atmosphere has kept me coming back ever since!
Throughout my days as an art student,
I continued working in the hospitality industry. I discovered the joys of waitressing at Villandry in Central London, and crafting cocktails at the Great Eastern Dining Rooms in Shoreditch. Gordon's Wine Bar in Villiers Street (London's oldest wine bar) was where I ended up, and met my business partner in crime, the lovely Manila. It's also where I discovered my love of fine wine, port and and its perfect accompaniment, cheese.
It was during our 15 years working at Gordon's Wine Bar that we acquired the relevant skills needed to start our very own unique venture. Manila and I are a fine pairing of precision, passion and panache in all areas, creating the perfect atmosphere
to enjoy a good drink! We have also encountered some amazingly talented chefs who have collaborated
with us on some of our ventures to date, and will continue working with us in the future.
We are very excited to offer you a unique bar experience, with fine drink and food, and a professional
but truly magical atmosphere. We look forward to making your event a night to remember!
